Rebuilding a Football Program the Right Way
There’s no handbook for going 0–10.
No clinic talk prepares you for the weight of it.
No scheme fixes the doubt that creeps in when the scoreboard keeps saying the same thing every Friday night.
I know—because I’ve lived it.
From 0–10 to 10–0 is my honest account of rebuilding a football program after a winless season. This isn’t a scheme book. It’s not about chasing the next trend. It’s about leadership, culture, and learning how to build belief before wins ever show up.
Why I Wrote This Book
After going 0–10, I had a choice:
make excuses… or take ownership.
This book is what I learned when I stopped blaming circumstances and started evaluating myself, my staff, and my program honestly. It’s the process that helped us rebuild trust, clarity, and purpose—and eventually turn the program into a winner.
I didn’t write this because I have all the answers.
I wrote it because I asked better questions.
What This Book Covers
Inside this book, I walk through the real lessons that mattered most:
Leading a program after a winless or losing season
Shifting from results-based thinking to process-based coaching
Rebuilding trust with players and assistant coaches
Creating accountability without destroying relationships
Aligning your staff and defining clear expectations
Choosing systems that fit your players—not someone else’s
Handling pressure, criticism, and self-doubt as a head coach
Building culture that holds up when things aren’t going well
Each chapter ends with reflection questions designed to help you apply the ideas directly to your own program.
Who This Book Is For
This book is for:
High school football coaches
Head coaches rebuilding or taking over a program
Assistant coaches preparing to lead
Small-school and youth coaches
Any coach who has questioned himself after a tough season
If you’ve ever sat alone after a loss wondering what you missed—or how to fix it—this book was written for you.
What This Book Is Not
This is not a playbook.
This is not a quick fix.
This is not a “do this and win immediately” promise.
It is a real, honest look at what actually changes a program over time.
The Core Belief
Football wins games.
But belief keeps kids from quitting when they’re tired, scared, or losing.
If you build the process the right way—
the scoreboard eventually follows.
From Me to You
This book is meant to be read, written in, and challenged. Take the ideas, apply what fits your situation, and ignore what doesn’t. There is no one-size-fits-all solution in coaching—but there is a better way to lead.
