Halftime Organization Card (Editable Word)
Halftime Organization Card (Editable Word)
Format: Editable Word document (.docx), one page, prints on letter paper.
This is the card we use to run a 16-minute halftime. It splits the break into four periods of four minutes each: the staff meets while the players rest and the trainer handles injuries and equipment, then position coaches take their groups, then the coordinators get the full offense and full defense, and the last four minutes belong to the head coach and special teams before we head back out. One person keeps the clock and tells the head coach at 8:00, 4:00 and 1:00.
The bottom half is where the coordinators write the second-half adjustments during the first period, with a line each for offense, defense, special teams, personnel and rotations, situations, and anything still open with injuries or equipment.
Every word on the card can be changed. If your halftime runs 15 minutes, or your staff splits the periods differently, type over it and print your own.
Who it is for: Head coaches and coordinators who want halftime to run the same way every Friday, whatever the scoreboard says.
What to do next
If you want the rest of the week organized the same way, the Weekend Plan of Action PPT covers film breakdown expectations, each coach's role and a weekend agenda for the staff. The Weekend Gameplan Card is the free companion to this one.
